Bring Me A Book Franklin is a non-profit organization focused on igniting the passion to read in the children of Franklin County and adjoining counties in the State of Florida. BMAB Franklin is the first licensee of the Bring Me A Book Foundation based in Mountain View, California and founded by Judy Koch of Palo Alto, California.

Directed toward dramatically improving literacy and success in school, BMAB Franklin supplies quality books and open-faced bookcases to settings that serve children and teaches parents, siblings, teens and community members the critical importance of READING ALOUD TO CHILDREN FROM BIRTH.

As part of this initiative, gift “books for babies” are provided for doctors and health clinics to distribute during well checks for babies and young children.

BMAB Franklin collaborates with the Apalachicola Museum of Art, Franklin County Library and the Tigers/Kits program, the Apalachicola City Library, the Franklin County Consolidated School, the ABC Charter School, private schools ( eg., Baptist Christian School), HeadStart centers, local churches ( eg., Hispanic outreach through St. Patrick’s Catholic Church), the Health Department, Florida state agencies (Healthy Families, Early Learning Coalition of Northwest Florida, the Florida Children’s Forum, Dept. of Children and Families), the Franklin Correctional Institute, University of Florida/Shands Hospital Arts in Medicine and other non-profits and groups serving children and their developmental needs.

BMAB Franklin supports the Franklin County Library and the Apalachicola City Library as the primary centers for free access to children’s books and encourages the regular use of these readily available resources.
